Your money stays in your name, start to finish.
Where your money goes.
Your bank
Your dollars start where they are today.
Your own account with a licensed currency partner
The account is in your name. This is where your dollars are converted to pesos, at the rate you've secured or the rate of the day.
Your recipient in Mexico
From your account, payments go directly to the notario, seller, builder or supplier you're paying.
Your account is yours to control. George can walk you through trades and payments, often on a call while you share your screen, but he cannot log in or move your money. MexEdge never holds, pools or takes custody of client funds.
Who your currency partners are.
Your account is opened with a licensed currency partner: a company that specializes in currency exchange and international payments. Every partner we work with is licensed and regulated. In the US, they're registered with FinCEN, part of the US Treasury, and licensed as money transmitters by state regulators. Our Canadian partners are regulated in Canada.

- Coordinates with your notario, builder and anyone else you're paying
- Tracks every transfer until it's confirmed received
- Keeps a clear record of every payment
- Hold, pool or take custody of your money
- Access your account or move your funds
- Set exchange rates (pricing comes from the currency partner)
- Give investment, legal or tax advice
- Act as your notario, attorney or escrow agent

Your deposit, explained.
Locking a rate requires a deposit, typically 4 to 8% of the amount, depending on how far away your payment is. You pay the deposit directly to your licensed currency partner, never to MexEdge.
If the exchange rate moves significantly against your locked rate, the currency partner may ask for an additional deposit. We monitor this with you and let you know right away. For qualifying companies, deposit requirements can often be reduced or waived.
